Human Trafficking Video
And Report Jan 15 at SJD
Human Trafficking doesn’t get much worse than it is in the Tampa Bay area and across Florida. Only two states report worse records than Florida in the number of men, women and children forced each year against their will to serve in the sex trades, domestic servitude and agricultural industries. A report on this human crisis will be presented Sunday, January 15 at St. John Divine church, 1015 E. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City Center, during the 8:00 a.m., 9:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services. Highlights of a WEDU-PBS documentary, “Too Close To Home,” will be shown. The featured speaker to discuss local efforts to combat these crimes and to help the survivors is Sonja Jordan, Operations Manager of Miracles Outreach of Tampa, which provides foster care and other services for children, most between the ages of 12 and 17, who are homeless, have been abused or were victims of human trafficking. The presentations are open to the community.
