The Kairos Prison Ministry is an international ecumenical christian ministry which addresses the spiritual needs of incarcerated individuals, their families and those who work in prisons. Kairos is a ministry of the church…a ministry of the apostles whom Jesus called into community and sent forth into the prisons. Kairos has been called the best example of the early church in existence today.
Kairos sprang from the Cursillo movement and is supported by men and women volunteers. The ministry to prisoners begins with a three-day course in Christianity and continues with small share and prayer groups among the residents of the institution.
Cookies are distributed to every resident and staff member during the three-day weekend. As many as 5000 dozen cookies are needed for a typical Kairos weekend.
