The Youth Group for students in grade 6 through 9 met twice a month on Sunday evenings 6-8pm starting with dinner. The format included games, worship, an evening program, crafts, a prayer and share session and snack. The youth have been involved in feeding the homeless, helping prepare Thanksgiving baskets and giving out Christmas presents for the Lord’s Lighthouse. They collected $501 during the Super Bowl of Caring and donated it to ERD’s Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund. A fun event for youth and adults was held at Brandon’s Roller Skating Rink.
A separate Vacation Bible School for Youth met at the Sun City Center campus at the same time as the children’s VBS program at the Ruskin campus.
Several of the young people attended the Diocesan weekends, New Beginnings and Happening.
As a Fund Raiser, the Youth Group did very well baking and selling baked goods on 2 different occasions at both campuses.
