Fr. Warner served most recently, since 2009, as Rector of St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in San Diego, California. He has also served churches in Virginia, South Carolina, and Michigan, having discovered his affinity for the sacraments, first as an acolyte at age 8, and later as a lay reader and chalice bearer at St. Alban’s, a church his parents helped found in Ft. Wayne Indiana, where he was born.
At Olivet College in Michigan, he majored in English and Music, was certified in 1980 as a teacher, married classmate Sue, whom he had met when they were freshman, worked at two high schools as a community youth worker, moved two years later to Virginia, entered the Theological Seminary in Alexandria and was ordained in 1986.
It was during his senior Seminary year, that the first of four Warner sons was born. Kyle, Cameron, Trevor, and Tristan are in their twenties, with the older two still living and working in Michigan. The youngest is a junior at California Polytechnic University at Pomona. Their third son, Trevor, has joined them here.
